Unlocking CRM Potential: What to Look for and Why

Let’s get this out of the way right now: I am not a CRM implementation expert. My job is to train and strategize with Online Sales Counselors (OSCs) and companies to help them thrive in their roles and their adoption of the CRM across all departments. It’s important for the marketing, sales, and online salespeople to all be rowing in the same direction when it comes to big tools like the CRM. What I do know is what a CRM should be able to do for you as an OSC in the homebuilding industry. It’s up to you to become the expert on the platform your company uses. And let’s be honest—often OSCs end up being the CRM experts in their companies. So, roll up your sleeves, dive in, and figure it out. Here’s the good news: there are resources everywhere. Your CRM likely has a support team, a knowledge base, and (bless the internet gods) YouTube. You can Google just about anything these days. Or—and here’s a crazy idea—you can play with it. New Media New Year’s Resolutions…

December 19, 2009

In 2009 I think I’ve begun to embrace Social Media and integrate it with my current business. From my own personal blog writing, to using twitter and facebook both personally and professionally for networking and building community, I’ve pulled my head out of the sand. I’ve put aside my butter churn and my oil lamp and joined the new media stream with my exploration and use of social media. So where should I go next…

Quicky Cute Christmas Story…I mean Social Media Story…

December 16, 2009

Okay so this time of year I become obsessed with these cute hard to find ornaments that are no longer in production. Yes these Opus n’ Bill ornaments are goofy and they make me smile. They remind me of the little kid inside that loves cartoons and comic books. My boyfriend actually got me hooked on them, he’s the biggest little kid with his Lego’s, love of opus, and if you’ve never seen a Wish…

Attitude of Gratitude: TweetsGiving Tonight! Gordon Biersch, Town Center VB

November 24, 2009

Tweetsgiving is tonight! November 24th at Gordon Biersch in Virginia Beach. The planning and execution have been a marvel of modern social media, and elbow grease. When Sonya Schweitzer the “Boss Chick” at Wave Marketing (@socialsonya) came to me and told me that she wanted to plan a TweetsGiving event in Virginia Beach to benefit a great charity, Epic Change. I said, “Count me in!” We also teamed up with local event planner, Karen Clements…

To Friend or Not To Friend: All Part of Personal and Professional Brand and Reputation Management

November 18, 2009

Social Media is a great way to network, create your brand, interact with a community, and through genuine shared interests and interactions perhaps reach a client base. Or at the very least, create an environment where people want to talk about you in a positive light and refer you, your product, or your business to their friends. Isn’t that the gist of it? Well, sometimes I find myself wondering, am I branding myself, my company,…
